Welcome! Wikis are websites that everyone can build together. It's easy!

The Map Region

This area contains a map panel and intitiative panel. This is where all of the action takes place and where most of the attention will be given during play. An additional Library panel can be opened on the right side when needed. You can effectively maximize the Map Region by minimizing the Tools Region.

Please note that the DM view has more options than the Player view. When appropriate, commands that are DM only are denoted with (DM) or an asterisk (*).

The Map Panel

The Main Window - d20proThis is where your maps will be displayed. There are several things you can do here.
  • Select Creatures: You can select creatures simply by clicking on them. You can select multiple creatures by clicking and dragging a box around creatures. You may also CTRL+click individual creatures for more group precision.
  • Move Creatures: Simply click & drag a creature you control to move it. To move a group, click & drag the one of the selected creatures while holding the SHIFT key.
  • Pan Map: You can move maps around by right clicking on a map and dragging your mouse while you hold the right mouse button.
  • Zoom in or out: You can click on the zoom buttons (top right of map), use ALT and +/- keys, or roll the wheel on your mouse.
  • Close Map (DM): Open maps will be displayed by tabs at the top of the map pane. Close them by clicking on the x on the tab. You will be asked to save a copy, overwrite, or discard changes.
  • Limbo (DM): Limbo is a holding bin for creatures that you wish to keep off the map, but still in play. It's different than the library in that you can keep many instances of the same creature type, and Limbo retains current effects and attributes of the creatures. To send a creature to Limbo, right-click on it and choose Location then Move to Limbo. Drag and drop the creatures from Limbo to place them onto the map.
  • Broadcast (DM): This button allows the DM to broadcast the map, refreshing the views of all logged in Players. You may also Broadcast by pressing the F5 key.

The Initiative Panel

The Map Region - d20proThe Initiative Panel is a thin strip on the left hand side of the Map Region. It lists all creatures currently on the map as well as any ongoing effects, and it also keeps track of combat rounds. It's divided into an active section and a passive section. Creatures in the active section will be included in the initiative order when combat begins. Creatures in the passive section are considered out of combat order.

When a creature is placed into initiative, d20pro automatically rolls that creature's initiative. D20pro adds Dexterity and the Improved Initiative feat, if applicable. Other modifiers are currently not supported without customizing the feat list. See the Tips & Tricks section for more details.

Portrait Functions

The portraits on the initiative panel have many functions.
  • Hovering your mouse pointer over a portrait gives you essential combat information, like hp, AC, and ongoing effects (listed at the end of the tooltip). The presence of a yellow exclamation point denotes 1 or more effects.
  • Right-clicking on a portrait pulls up the same Creature Menu as when you right-click on the creature on the map.
  • Double-clicking on a portrait pulls up a larger version to the right of the map. This section also includes any descriptions entered for the creature.
