Magic Use
The magic system in d20Pro is slightly complex and may take a little bit of time getting used to, however, once you understand the casting system, it makes the games much smoother and easier.
Casting a Spell: (***NOTE*** - Spell lists should to be selected prior to beginning the game for easiest use)
DM Reminder: Don't forget to rest the magic users. Magic users will not have their spells refreshed until they have been rested by the DM.
Below is a description of how each basic magic user works. Remember to assign the proper level for each character class, otherwise you will not be able to cast a spell if the wrong class and / or level is assigned properly. Once the proper class and level are assigned, click on the "Spells" button in the character sheet.
Bard: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.
Cleric: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.
Druid: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.
Paladin: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.
Ranger: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.

Wizard: This begins with a blank page with "Edit" and "Rest" in the top right corner of the character sheet.
Casting a Spell: (***NOTE*** - Spell lists should to be selected prior to beginning the game for easiest use)
- Right-click on creature that will be casting
- Select "Spell" in pop-up window
- Use the arrows to move up or down to the desired level of spell to be cast
- Select the spell
- This will open a new window and give the following options:
- Create Effect - click in the small box if the spell will cause an effect that will last longer than 1 round
- Select Target - click in the small box if the spell targets 1 or more creatures. Choose the desired target.
- Roll Dice - click in the small box and choose the appropriate dice to be rolled if there will be damage or healing assessed at the end of the spell.
Magic tip: If you are finding the magic system too complicated to use now, (don't worry, the magic system will be the next big overhaul of d20Pro) burn the spell without selecting anything in any of the pop up windows. This will allow the software to keep track of the creatures daily allotment of spells without confusing you further.***NOTE*** - If the spell has an effect, once the green arrow is clicked a new window will open:
- Duration - select the duration of the spell.
- Save DC - select the save DC for the spell (***NOTE*** - at this time the saves will have to be rolled manually). The save can be rolled by right-clicking on the targeted creatures icon on the map and choosing save, then choose the appropriate save for the spell.
